This adjunct consists of 5 photographs on an 11 by 14 in. sheet. The five photographs illustrate varying degrees of pilling and related surface changes which could be encountered on a typical fabric. They vary from No. 1 - Very Severe Pilling to No. 5 - No Pilling. Use this adjunct to compare the tested specimens with the photographs. The photographs, according to personal preference, may be used as supplied or may be cut and used individually. In addition to D3512 Test Method for Pilling Resistance and Other Related Surface Changes of Textile Fabrics: Random Tumble Pilling Tester, this Adjunct can also be used as a reference with ASTM D3511, ASTM D3514 and ASTM D4970.
